Our History
La Familia Mental Health Services was founded in 2010 by Manuel Martinez in response to the growing need for accessible, compassionate mental health services in our community. After years of working directly with families navigating complex behavioral health systems, he recognized the significant barriers many individuals faced in receiving timely, high-quality care.
The practice began with a simple but powerful mission: to provide evidence-based therapy in an environment where clients feel safe, respected, and understood. From the beginning, La Familia has remained committed to reducing stigma, increasing access, and delivering care that meets individuals where they are.
Since opening, we have expanded our services to support children, adolescents, adults, and families facing trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodevelopmental challenges, substance use concerns, and major life transitions. Suicide prevention remains a critical component of our work through early intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, and ongoing therapeutic support.
Today, La Familia continues to grow while maintaining its core commitment to compassionate care, clinical integrity, and community impact.
